About this product
The Astral Loyak AC is a unisex water-and-land shoe designed for activities like SUP, sailing, fishing, and training, though it is not recommended for heavy whitewater use. Its ultra-fine ripstop mesh upper features TPU reinforcements for abrasion resistance, a sock-like entry with laces, and hydrophobic canvas panels secured by recessed lilo-stitching directly to the outsole. The construction is fully vegan. Underfoot, a 7mm drop-in closed-cell EVA foam midsole with massage pods sits between the upper and the G.15 Rubber outsole, which combines Flex-Grip technology with razor siping and 3mm lugs for reliable traction on wet and dry surfaces. The outsole is non-marking and includes drainage ports to shed water quickly. A zero-drop, Level Footbed geometry with a wider toe box keeps the foot in a natural position, while the low 12mm heel and 11mm ball foot-to-ground distance maximize ground feel. Available in Fern Green, and noted by customers to run slightly small.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Astral Loyak AC for its exceptional wet traction, crediting the razor-siped G15 rubber outsole with outstanding grip on slick rocks, algae-covered docks, and wet surfaces. The lightweight, minimalist feel and quick-draining mesh upper are also frequently highlighted, with many noting the shoe wears more like an ultralight sneaker than a typical water shoe. Versatility is a recurring theme, as users appreciate it for kayaking, rafting, fishing, and casual wear. The most common criticisms center on durability concerns with the mesh upper, a fit that runs slightly small and narrow (especially for wider feet), and limited warmth, making it a poor choice for cold-water conditions or demanding terrain like canyoneering.
