About this product
The North Face Base Camp Voyager Duffel 42L is a refined take on the brand's iconic Base Camp Duffel, sized for overnight trips and built from 300D recycled polyester tarpaulin with a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish. The 100% recycled body fabric is lighter than the original while retaining the same durability. At 2 lbs 5 oz (1055 g) and measuring 23 by 14.67 by 10.2 inches (58.4 x 37.3 x 25.9 cm), it holds 42 liters (2563 cubic inches) of gear. Padded shoulder straps unclip and tuck behind the back panel, converting the bag between duffel and backpack carry modes. An external padded laptop sleeve accommodates up to a 15-inch laptop, while a small external zip pocket handles quick-access items like a passport. Inside, a secure-zip pocket keeps small essentials organized, and an adjustable, removable divider lets you configure the main compartment to suit your load. Side handles hold the bag away from your body during carry, and external webbing provides multiple lash points for additional gear.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the North Face Base Camp Voyager Duffel 42L for its durability and versatility, noting that its 300D recycled polyester tarpaulin construction holds up well across airport travel, outdoor adventures, and everyday use. The water-repellent finish earns repeated compliments, with users reporting that dirt and moisture bead right off. The organizational features, particularly the repositionable interior divider, the dedicated laptop pocket in the lid, and the expandable end pocket for shoes, are widely appreciated. The stowable backpack straps are a popular bonus, making the bag easy to carry hands-free. The most common criticism is the absence of a traditional over-the-shoulder crossbody strap, which makes carrying it as a conventional duffel less comfortable over longer distances. Some users also feel the 42L capacity could be slightly larger, and the backpack straps are noted as only minimally padded under heavier loads.
