The Black Diamond Stone 45 is a purpose-built pack for alpine climbing, mountaineering, and rock climbing, sized at 43 liters in Small/Medium and 45 liters in Medium/Large. Weighing 1.45 kg, it is constructed from 800-denier nylon with 1260-denier ballistic nylon reinforcements in high-wear areas, resulting in a notably robust build suited to rugged terrain. Access is handled through a combination of top loading and a side zipper, so retrieving gear mid-route does not require unpacking the entire bag. The adjustable, removable lid includes a zippered pocket for small essentials, while compression straps, an ice axe loop, and a rope strap tuck away cleanly when not in use. The padded shoulder straps and removable padded hip belt, which fits a circumference of 66 to 102 cm in Small/Medium and 71 to 114 cm in Medium/Large, provide load support on longer approaches. Both the hip belt and lid can be stripped off to reduce carried weight when conditions call for a lighter setup. Made in the Philippines.
