About this product
The Coleman Skydome Camping Tent accommodates up to 8 people and is designed to be pitched in under 5 minutes, making it a practical choice for car camping. Nearly vertical walls provide 20% more headroom than a traditional Coleman dome tent, and a wide door simplifies moving air beds, sleeping bags, and bulky gear in and out. The frame has been tested to withstand winds up to 35 mph, adding confidence in variable conditions. Rain protection is handled by the WeatherTec system, which combines welded corners and inverted seams to keep moisture out, backed by a rain protection rating of 4. Interior organization is supported by mesh storage pockets and a gear loft for smaller items. The tent packs down to approximately 27 x 66 x 25 cm and comes with a carry bag included. Available in Bluenight colorway, it carries SKU 2000038079.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Coleman Skydome 8-Person for its fast, manageable setup thanks to pre-attached poles, with many owners reporting it can be pitched solo in around 15 minutes. The nearly vertical walls and generous peak height earn frequent compliments for standing room, and the Dark Room variant is widely credited for genuinely blocking sunlight and keeping the interior cooler. Weather resistance also draws strong marks, with multiple users reporting the tent stayed dry through heavy rain and thunderstorms. The most common criticisms center on the fiberglass poles, which reviewers flag as flimsy and prone to cracking under stress compared to aluminum alternatives. Some users note the stated 8-person capacity is optimistic for real-world comfort, and occasional complaints mention zipper quality and minor floor seam leakage in severe downpours.
