About this product
The Deuter Freerider Pro 32+ SL is a women-specific freeride ski touring backpack built for backcountry days that demand both organization and safety readiness. Constructed from 420D PA Ripstop TPU as the primary fabric and 330D PA 6.6 Ripstop as the secondary material, it is PFAS free and sized to fit body heights of 158 to 178 cm, with an adjustable back length of 38 to 48 cm. At 32 liters of volume (expandable) and weighing 1,260 g, it measures 56 x 35 x 18 cm. Structural support comes from Delrin U-frames, while an adjustable sternum belt, hip fin with loops, and load adjustment straps keep the pack stable under a recommended load of 6 to 10 kg. Avalanche safety is addressed through a reinforced compartment for a shovel blade and handle. Ski and helmet carry options include A-Frame ski fixation and a dedicated helmet mount, and an ice axe attachment adds further alpine versatility. Additional practical touches include a glasses stow system on the shoulder strap, an elasticated inner compartment for wet gear or a hydration reservoir (compatible with a 3.0-liter drinking system), zipped back access, a secure valuables pocket, and an SOS label.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Deuter Freerider Pro 32+ SL for its excellent carrying comfort, crediting the women-specific SL fit (shorter back length, S-shaped shoulder straps, and conical hip fins) with keeping the pack stable and close to the body even on steep terrain. The expandable roll-top closure, dedicated avalanche safety compartment, rear panel access, and versatile ski and snowboard carry options are frequently highlighted as standout features. The durable, snow-resistant fabric and thoughtful organization (goggle holder, wet-gear pocket, hydration compatibility) also earn consistent praise. The most common criticism is that the pack runs small for taller women, with the back length potentially feeling short at the upper end of the recommended height range. Some users also note the interior lining could be more durable with heavy use.
