About this product
The Lowa Mauria EVO GTX is a women's-specific backpacking boot built on a last shaped to fit the female foot, with a padded ankle collar that improves comfort around the lower calf and Achilles. The upper is crafted from nubuck leather and is fully waterproof, making it well suited for camping and hiking in wet or rugged alpine conditions. A two-zone lacing system adjusts independently at the forefoot and ankle for a customized fit, while the C4 tongue and X-Lacing system prevent tongue slippage and pressure points. Roller eyelets reduce lace friction for quick, even tightening. FlexFit and LOWA Flex construction allow natural ankle movement on steep or uneven ground, and cushioning under the heel and ball of the foot smooths the stride on long days. The moderately stiff platform handles heavy loads without sacrificing walking comfort. A resoleable design extends the boot's service life and reduces waste. Manufactured in Germany, the Mauria EVO GTX weighs 1,250 g per pair and carries on a bootmaking tradition dating back to 1923.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Lowa Mauria EVO GTX for its excellent waterproofing, keeping feet completely dry even through snow and mud, and for its women-specific fit that delivers strong ankle support and stability on uneven terrain. The Vibram outsole earns repeated compliments for grip on varied and slippery surfaces. The 2-zone lacing system and padded tongue are noted as comfort highlights that reduce pressure points. The most common criticism is that the boot is quite stiff, with some users finding it too rigid for casual or shorter hikes, particularly during break-in. Weight is also flagged as a minor drawback, though most agree the heft contributes to the boot's durability and load-carrying support.
