About this product
The North Face Summit Run 5 is a 5-liter unisex running vest designed for both road and trail running, with a feature set that suits competitive and recreational runners alike. The main body is constructed from 40D nylon-elastane stretch woven fabric treated with FLASHDRY technology for moisture management, while the side panels use a nylon-elastane power mesh and the back panel features a warp knit mesh for breathability and freedom of movement. Two chest pockets with elastic valve stabilizers hold the two included 500 ml soft flasks securely and minimize bounce, and two lower chest pockets provide quick access to snacks or gels. A secure-zip chest pocket protects valuables, and a large back pocket accommodates extra layers. Upper and lower sternum straps with S/R buckles allow adjustable fit, and side compression straps fine-tune the fit around the rib cage. Additional details include a horizontal trekking-pole sleeve, elastic hydration tube loops, reflective logos for low-light visibility, and an included safety whistle. Made in Viet Nam.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the North Face Summit Series Run Vest 5 for its exceptional lightness (around 169g without flasks) and airy, breathable mesh construction that keeps it comfortable even on hot runs. The minimal bounce, secure flask pockets, and well-organized front storage are frequently highlighted strengths, along with the wide-ranging adjustability of the dual sternum straps. The trekking pole sleeve is called out as a clever, practical addition for longer races. The most common criticism is the limited rear storage, as the vest forgoes a rear compartment entirely, which can feel restrictive on longer efforts. A few reviewers also flag an annoyingly high neckline as a fit quirk, and some casual users note that the front pockets are quite small for everyday use.
