The Black Diamond Distance 22 is a lightweight trail running and fast-and-light alpine backpack built around a 22-liter (1,343 cu in) capacity and a packed weight of just 411 grams. The body is constructed from a custom-developed combination of Nylon 100D and PE 200D with Dynex Ripstop, a UHMWPE-based fabric chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio. A standout design detail is the Stitch-less Edge Taping Technology used in the harness layout, which improves shoulder strap comfort and freedom of movement while trimming overall weight. Pole management is handled by integrated Z-Pole sleeves and on-the-go Z-Pole storage, complemented by dual piolet storage points. Organization is thorough for a pack this size: a large front stretch woven pocket, two soft flask pockets, one zippered pocket and two stretch shoulder strap pockets, two side stash pockets, dual side compression straps, and an internal zippered pocket with a key clip round out the feature set. Soft flasks are not included.
