About this product
The GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Backpacker is a complete two-person camp cookset built around a 2-liter hard anodized aluminum pot with a non-stick Teflon Radiance coating. That three-layer coating is engineered to disperse heat evenly, reduce hot spots, and resist scratching and abrasion to a degree that makes it compatible with most metal utensils. The full kit packs down to 8.2 by 8.2 by 5.4 inches and weighs 28.8 oz (816 g), fitting neatly inside the pot itself. Included are an 8-inch fry pan, a crushproof strainer lid, two 14 fl. oz. mugs with insulating sleeves and sip-it tops, two 14 fl. oz. graduated nesting bowls, a folding pot gripper, and a welded stuff sack that doubles as a wash basin. The tableware is made from Infinity clear polypropylene, a BPA-free, fully recyclable material that resists odor absorption and becomes more stain-resistant with repeated washing. A spiral-turned pot base grips stove and grill arms securely, and the folding gripper locks onto exterior brackets to protect the cookware surface during handling.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Backpacker for its clever, self-contained nesting system, where every piece has a designated spot and the carry bag doubles as a wash basin. The inclusion of an 8-inch frying pan is frequently highlighted as a standout feature, enabling real cooking beyond just boiling water. The hard-anodized aluminum construction, non-stick coating, and easy cleanup earn repeated compliments, as do the insulated mugs with sip-it lids. The most common criticisms center on value, as several reviewers note the price feels high relative to the weight carried. The non-stick coating is flagged as scratch-prone, with users recommending plastic utensils only. A few also point out that having only one pot and one pan requires careful meal planning when cooking for two.
