About this product

The Klymit Insulated V Ultralite SL is a backcountry-focused sleeping pad built for cold-weather camping where weight and pack size are priorities. Its body-mapped V-chamber construction distributes support from head to toe, while Klymalite lofted synthetic insulation provides meaningful ground warmth, reflected in a solid R-value of 4.4. At 454 grams (16 oz), it sits firmly in ultralight territory without sacrificing thermal performance. Inflation is quick and straightforward, requiring only 7 to 10 breaths to reach a comfortable 2.5-inch loft. Fully inflated dimensions measure 72 x 20 x 2.5 inches (183 x 50.8 x 6.5 cm), and the pad compresses down to a compact 7 x 4.5 inch (18 x 12 cm) packed size, making it easy to fit into a loaded pack. The shell is constructed from 20D durable polyester, which keeps weight low while maintaining reasonable resistance to abrasion. Available in Bright Orange, this pad suits three-season and shoulder-season outings where insulation from the ground is essential.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Klymit Insulated V Ultralite SL for its exceptional combination of low weight and tiny packed size, frequently calling it one of the most packable insulated pads available. The patented V-chamber design earns wide approval for delivering solid comfort to side, back, and stomach sleepers, with the 2.5-inch thickness keeping hips off the ground. Its R-value of 4.4 and warmth-to-weight ratio are seen as strong value for the price, with the lifetime warranty adding confidence. The most common criticisms are the narrow width (72x20 inches), which can feel limiting for restless sleepers, the delicate 20D polyester fabric raising durability concerns, and the twist-pull valve requiring a learning curve. Taller users also note the single-size design as a drawback.
