About this product
The Klymit Maxfield 1 is a three-season solo backpacking tent built around a fully connected pole system using anodized 7001 T-6 aluminum, keeping the trail weight to just 2.3 lb (1.04 kg) and the fast-fly configuration down to 2.2 lb (1 kg). Both the fly and floor use 15D Sil/PU Nylon Ripstop rated to 1200mm, with seam sealing throughout for reliable rain protection, while the inner tent body is constructed from 20D nylon mesh for ventilation. The interior floor area measures 16.2 sq ft (1.5 sq m), the peak height reaches 42 in (107 cm), and a 6.5 sq ft (0.6 sq m) vestibule provides useful gear storage outside the sleeping space. A built-in interior mesh pocket keeps small items organized, and the tent ships with 11 aluminum stakes and a storage sack. Packed down, it compresses to 20 x 5 in (51 x 13 cm) at a packed weight of 2.6 lb (1.17 kg), making it a practical choice for weight-conscious solo travelers. The colorway is orange and grey.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Klymit Maxfield 1 for its standout roll-style stuff sack, which doubles as a clean work surface for setup and makes repacking far easier than a traditional stuff sack. The spacious interior and generous dual vestibules for a solo tent also draw frequent compliments, as does the three-port ventilation system that keeps condensation manageable. The Sil-nylon construction and aluminum poles are noted as solid for the weight class. The most common criticism is that the tent is semi-freestanding and requires stakes to stay upright, making setup trickier on rocky terrain. Some forum users also feel the MSRP is high relative to Klymit's budget-brand reputation, and weight-conscious backpackers note lighter alternatives exist at a similar price.
