About this product

The Mammut Alto Light HS Hooded Jacket is a women's lightweight hardshell designed for hiking in variable weather. Its 2.5-layer Mammut DRY Tour laminate is constructed from recycled polyester and carries a PFC-free Durable Water Repellent treatment, backed by a 15,000 mm water column rating for reliable rain protection. All seams are sealed, and the stretchable material supports a comfortable regular fit across a range of movement. Practical trail-ready details include a 1-point adjustable hood, a water-repellent front zipper, underarm zip ventilation, pre-shaped sleeves with hook-and-loop cuffs, and a drawstring-adjustable hem. Two side pockets feature water-repellent zippers, and the jacket packs into its own pocket for easy storage on longer outings. Both the shell and lining are 100% polyester, keeping overall weight low. Available in navy, the Alto Light HS strikes a solid balance between weather protection and packability for day hikes and multi-day trail use.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Mammut Women's Alto Light HS Hooded Jacket for its impressive lightweight build (around 315g), reliable waterproofing in real-world wet conditions, and excellent packability into its own pocket. The pit zips for ventilation are a standout feature, noted as rare for a jacket this light, and the helmet-compatible, adjustable hood earns repeated approval. The soft, comfortable feel and use of recycled, PFC-free materials are also well received. The most common criticisms are the relatively high price point, middle-of-the-road breathability ratings, and the PFC-free DWR treatment requiring more frequent reproofing. Pocket access can be awkward when wearing a rucksack, and long-term durability remains a mild open question.
