About this product
The Mountain Hardwear Powabunga 32 Pack is a purpose-built ski and snowboard pack designed for both in-bounds and backcountry use. Its shell is constructed from 500D CORDURA High-Tenacity Nylon, known for its lightweight durability, while the interior is lined with 200D Recycled Polyester Plain Weave. Two size options are available: S/M (30 L / 1831 cu in, weighing 3 lb 1.4 oz) and M/L (32 L / 1953 cu in, weighing 3 lb 3.4 oz), with torso length ranges of 16 to 19 inches and 18 to 21 inches respectively. A spring steel frame transfers loads efficiently while allowing natural flex, and the unique hipbelt pivots both side-to-side and up-and-down for unrestricted movement. Full back panel access simplifies packing, and a front avalanche tool pocket with dedicated sleeves keeps safety gear organized. Additional features include a fleece-lined goggle pocket, a helmet hammock, a stowable diagonal ski loop, dual large side zip pockets with expandable bellows, dual density insulated hydration tube routing, and a wicking stretch-woven back panel with an HDPE framesheet.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Powabunga 32 for its innovative pivoting hipbelt, which moves naturally with the skier and keeps heavy loads comfortable and balanced on the uphill. The vertically opening side pockets are a standout feature, praised for holding skins, water bottles, and snacks without eating into main compartment space, effectively making the pack feel larger than its 32L size. The dedicated avalanche tool pocket, fleece-lined goggle stash, helmet hammock, and back-panel access are widely appreciated for enabling smooth, fast transitions in the backcountry. Expert testers awarded it Outside Magazine's Gear of the Year. The most common criticism is weight, coming in at just over 3 pounds, which some find heavy for a pack of this size. A few reviewers also note that overloading it can cause the fit to feel less comfortable.
