About this product
The Patagonia Men's Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket (model 85240) is a regular-fit waterproof shell built for reliable all-day protection. Its three-layer construction combines a 100% recycled ripstop nylon face fabric, a waterproof membrane, and a DWR finish, all meeting Patagonia's H2No Performance Standard for strong waterproof and breathable performance. Notably, the fabric, membrane, and DWR finish are made without intentionally added PFAS, reflecting a commitment to cleaner chemistry. Practical features include an adjustable hood, a collar lined in micropolar fleece for comfort, a front center zipper, and hook-and-loop wrist closures. Two hand-warmer pockets and underarm ventilation zips with external piping help manage temperature on the go, and the jacket packs into its own left hand-warmer pocket with a carabiner clip for easy carrying. Rated highly for rain protection and durability, with solid breathability, this jacket is also produced in a Fair Trade Certified factory. Available in Gem Green, size Large.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Patagonia Men's Torrentshell 3L for its outstanding waterproofing and exceptional value, with its 3-layer H2No construction competing against jackets costing twice as much. The two-way adjustable hood, velcro cuffs, pit zips, and long-term durability are frequently highlighted as standout features. The most common criticisms are that the fabric is noticeably stiff and crinkly, especially when new, and that breathability is limited during high-output activities. Reviewers also flag the lack of a chest pocket, and note that the DWR performance can degrade if the jacket is not washed regularly.
