About this product
The Rab Microlight Alpine Jacket is a men's packable down jacket built around a fully recycled construction. The outer shell is a recycled 30D Pertex Quantum ripstop nylon (50g/m²) with a DWR finish, while the lining uses recycled 20D nylon at 38g/m². Inside, GRS-certified 700 fill-power P.U.R.E. recycled down carries a Nikwax hydrophobic treatment for moisture resistance, with a packed weight of 153g in a size Large. A zoned combination of micro and nano stitch-through baffles concentrates warmth at the core without adding unnecessary bulk. The adjustable hood is down-filled and features a stiffened peak, and the cuffs are internally elasticated with a drawcord hem for a secure fit. Three harness-compatible pockets, including YKK-zipped hand pockets and a large chest pocket, add practical versatility for both everyday wear and mountain use. The jacket fits true to size according to customer feedback.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Microlight Alpine for its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, outstanding weather resistance, and versatility across activities from hiking and climbing to everyday wear. The Pertex Quantum shell and hydrophobic 700-fill down earn repeated compliments for handling wind, light rain, and snow well. Comfort details like the soft face fabric, fleece chin guard, and elastic cuffs are frequently highlighted. The most common criticisms center on weight and packability: it is noticeably heavier and bulkier than ultralight competitors, and the separate stuff sack (not integrated into a pocket) is a recurring frustration. Some users also flag a snug, athletic fit that may require sizing up, and a few note the zipper orientation differs from typical North American jackets.
