About this product
The Arc'teryx Atom SL Hoodie (model X000009560, SKU C36648) is a lightweight, fitted men's insulated hoodie designed for trail running and mountain pursuits in cold, wet conditions. Lighter and more packable than the original Atom, it features stretch synthetic insulation in the body only, with uninsulated sleeves and hood, a configuration that concentrates warmth at the core while maximizing compressibility. Octa Fleece stretch panels on the sides enhance ventilation and freedom of movement. The moisture-resistant outer face fabric carries a PFAS-free FC0 DWR finish, and the construction is wind resistant and breathable throughout. A low-profile, adjustable StormHood and an adjustable hem drawcord help seal out drafts. Two hand pockets with hidden zippers keep the exterior clean. The insulation is made with recycled content, the fabric meets bluesign criteria, and the garment is treated with Polygiene anti-odor technology. Available here in Medium, Black (UPC 623555583301).

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Arc'teryx Men's Atom SL Hoodie for its exceptional breathability and ultralight build, making it a standout choice for high-output activities like trail running, ski touring, and hiking. Its stretch fleece side panels, packability, and surprising wind resistance are frequently highlighted, with many calling it a versatile layer that works as a standalone piece or under a shell. The most common criticism is that it offers limited warmth when stationary, as its 40g insulation is intentionally minimal and not suited for cold, sedentary use. The high price point is also a recurring concern, with some reviewers noting the hood provides little wind protection on its own.
