About this product
The Arc'teryx Women's Atom SL Hoodie is a fitted, lightweight insulated layer designed for trail running and mountain pursuits in cold or wet conditions. The body uses a recycled 20-denier nylon plain weave with weft stretch and a PFAS-free FC0 DWR finish (88% Nylon, 12% Elastane, 58gsm), while Coreloft Stretch synthetic insulation (40gsm, 100% Polyester) concentrates warmth at the core without adding bulk. The sleeves and hood are left uninsulated and mesh-lined to aid temperature regulation and maximize packability. Octa Polyester Fleece side panels (Raschel anti-shed with 40D Delta Face, Polygiene treated, 122gsm, 100% Polyester) enhance ventilation and freedom of movement. Articulated patterning supports mobility, and the low-profile StormHood is adjustable. Two zippered hand pockets and an adjustable hem drawcord round out the practical details. The result is a compressible, wind-resistant piece that works equally well as a standalone or under a shell.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Arc'teryx Women's Atom SL Hoodie for its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, calling it warmer than it first appears despite its minimal bulk. Its breathability and stretch side panels make it a favorite for high-output activities, and it earns strong marks as a versatile three-season piece worn alone or layered under a shell. The trim, athletic fit and packability are frequently highlighted positives. The most common criticisms center on limited weather protection: the stretch underarm panels are noted as vulnerable to wind and moisture, and the jacket will wet through in heavy rain. Reviewers also flag the absence of a chest pocket and the lack of insulation in the sleeves and hood as notable trade-offs for the lighter weight. The price is a recurring concern, with many noting it is steep for what is essentially a lightly insulated windbreaker.
