About this product
The Columbia Girls' Whirlibird III Interchange Jacket is a 3-in-1 ski jacket designed for young riders who need versatile, season-spanning protection. The Zip-in Interchange System allows the shell and insulated liner to be worn separately or zipped together, giving parents and kids flexibility across varying conditions. The shell is constructed from nylon (with a 72% nylon/28% polyester blend option) and features Omni-Tech critically seam-sealed, waterproof-breathable fabric that keeps moisture out in wet weather. The synthetic-insulated liner is lined with Omni-Heat thermal-reflective material, using silver dots to reflect body heat for warmth without bulk. A standout feature for growing kids is the Outgrown system, which extends the cuffs for multi-season use. Additional mountain-ready details include a microfleece-lined adjustable hood, a snap-back powder skirt with silicone grippers, ski pass and goggle pockets, a phone pocket, and an interior security pocket. Center back length measures 23.0 inches (58.4 cm).

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Columbia Girls' Whirlibird III Interchange Jacket for its impressive warmth, waterproofing, and 3-in-1 versatility, noting that kids can wear the inner liner alone on milder days or zip it into the shell for full winter protection. Parents frequently highlight that the jacket is warm without being overly bulky, making it easy to wear with a backpack, and appreciate the Outgrown system's extendable cuffs for multi-season use. Color options and overall build quality also earn repeated compliments. The most common criticism centers on sizing: the waist can run tight, and the fit between adjacent sizes is inconsistent, making it difficult to find the right size. A minority of reviewers note that the inner liner feels thin compared to expectations for a 3-in-1 jacket.
