About this product
The Mammut Nordwand Pro HS Pants in Azalea are a women's hardshell pant built for demanding alpine and technical climbing conditions. Constructed with Gore-Tex Pro, the most rugged variant of the Gore-Tex lineup, they carry a top-tier durability rating and full seam sealing, while a partial Gore-Tex stretch material insert supports freedom of movement on rock. Dyneema-reinforced seam edges and hem reinforcements guard against crampon strikes and abrasive rock surfaces. The climbing-specific cut features a raised rear waistband with a mesh insert and an adjustable wide waistband for a secure, harness-compatible fit. Two harness-compatible pockets and waterproof zippers keep essentials accessible and protected, while a full-length water-repellent drop seat zip and side ventilation add practical versatility. Integrated gaiters with adjustable leg width fit cleanly over mountain and ski touring boots. The face and backing materials use a spun-dyed process, reducing environmental impact. Sizing runs true to size per customer feedback. SKU 1020-12700.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Mammut Nordwand Pro HS Pants for their exceptional weather protection and bombproof durability, crediting the Gore-Tex Pro fabric with outstanding waterproofing and abrasion resistance in demanding alpine conditions including ice, snow, and rock. The thoughtful feature set, including Dyneema crampon protection, harness-compatible pockets, side ventilation zippers, a drop-seat zipper, and detachable suspenders, earns repeated appreciation from climbers and ski tourers. Freedom of movement is generally considered good, aided by Gore-Tex Stretch panels and an articulated cut, though some users note the fit can feel slightly restrictive on steeper terrain. The most common complaint is sizing: multiple reviewers found the pants run small and short, often requiring sizing up by two sizes, which can result in an awkward fit in the seat and waist. The high price point is also a recurring concern, though most agree the quality justifies the cost for serious alpine use.
