About this product

The Norrøna Men's Falketind Dri1 Jacket is a lightweight, compact waterproof shell built for year-round mountaineering and versatile enough for trekking and ski touring. Its core material is a dri1 fabric woven from 100% post-consumer recycled nylon using Bureo yarns, rated to a 20,000 mm water column for strong rain protection, with fully sealed seams and a breathable PU membrane that creates a microclimate against the body. The technical Y-shaped cut sits longer at the back, and articulated sleeves support a full range of motion during climbing. A helmet-compatible, one-hand-adjustable hood, shoulder seam-free construction, and Velcro-adjustable cuffs make it backpack and harness friendly. Zippered front ventilation helps regulate temperature on the move, while a zippered chest pocket and elastic hem round out the practical details. Available in Gold Flame (size Medium, model 1885-25), this jacket packs down easily for carry in the field.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Norrona Falketind Dri1 for its exceptional lightweight and packability, with most noting it is among the lightest hardshells available at under nine ounces. The soft, quiet, non-crinkly fabric earns repeated compliments, as does the technical, articulated fit that allows unrestricted movement during climbing and scrambling. Breathability and wind resistance in alpine conditions are also frequently highlighted. The most common criticisms center on its 2.5-layer construction offering less storm protection than a full 3-layer shell, a short hem that lets cold air in during dynamic movement, a hood that can feel tight over bulkier ski helmets, and the absence of hand pockets, which limits everyday versatility.
