About this product
The North Face Basin Pro Pant is a men's hiking pant built around four-way-stretch fabric that combines mobility with trail-ready durability. The body is constructed from 142 g/m² fabric made of 94% recycled nylon and 6% elastane, treated with FLASHDRY technology and a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish to manage moisture and light precipitation. Reinforcing overlays on the seat and knees use a slightly heavier 147 g/m² recycled nylon and elastane blend with FLASHDRY-XD for extra abrasion resistance in high-wear zones. The regular fit is complemented by a crotch gusset and articulated knees for unrestricted movement on uneven terrain. An integrated webbing waistband with a G-hook closure and drawcord leg openings with cord locks allow a dialed-in fit. Pockets include open hand pockets, a secure-zip thigh pocket, and a drop-in back pocket, all lined with 50 g/m² recycled polyester mesh for breathability. A zip-fly with snap closure completes the practical design.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Basin Pro Pant for its lightweight, breathable fabric and impressive moisture management via FlashDry technology. The four-way stretch, articulated knees, and gusseted crotch earn repeated compliments for enabling a full range of movement on trail and in everyday use. Durability is also a common highlight, with several buyers noting the pants hold up well across multi-day trips. The availability of short, regular, and tall inseam options is appreciated by taller and leaner wearers. The most common complaints center on sizing, with many reviewers finding the waist runs noticeably small compared to standard sizing. Pocket design also draws criticism, particularly the thigh pocket placement and shallow hand pockets, and a few users note items can slip out of the open back pocket.
