About this product
The North Face ThermoBall Jacket for women is a packable synthetic insulated jacket built around ThermoBall insulation (11 g/ft² of 100% post-consumer recycled polyester) that retains warmth even in damp conditions. The outer shell uses WINDWALL 20D fabric at 44 g/m², woven from 100% recycled polyester and treated with a PFC-free durable water repellent finish for light moisture resistance. The lining is a 30D 52 g/m² WINDWALL recycled polyester, and the standard fit sits at a center back length of 24.25 inches (61.6 cm). Practical details include an open VISLON center front zipper with a draft flap and chin guard, secure zippered hand pockets, concealed elastic cuffs, and a drawstring hem with cord locks on each side. The jacket stows into the right hand pocket for easy transport. Designed with circularity in mind, it can be disassembled and recycled at end of life into raw materials for future products. An embroidered logo appears on the left chest and back right shoulder.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the North Face ThermoBall Women's Jacket for its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, calling it lightweight yet surprisingly warm for its slim profile. The packable design and versatility as both a standalone jacket and a layering piece are frequently highlighted. Users appreciate the flattering, non-bulky fit and the wide range of color options. The insulation holds up well after repeated washing, maintaining its loft over time. The most common criticisms center on coverage: the sleeves and torso run shorter than competing jackets, which can leave wrists exposed when reaching. Some reviewers also note the shoulders lack stretch for active use, making it better suited to casual wear than high-output activities. Sizing can be inconsistent, with some buyers needing to size up or down to get the right fit.
