About this product
The North Face Alta Vista Rain Jacket is a women's waterproof shell built around DryVent 2.5-layer technology, earning strong ratings for both rain protection and breathability. The body fabric is a 90 g/m² 100% recycled nylon with a non-PFC DWR finish, while the hood and hem tunnel lining use a lighter 62 g/m² 100% recycled polyester. All seams are fully sealed to keep moisture out during unexpected downpours. The standard-fit design includes an attached, adjustable three-piece hood with a drawcord and cord locks, pit-zip venting for airflow management, and an exposed water-repellent center front zip with a zip garage at the upper neck. Hem and cuffs are adjustable via drawcord and hook-and-loop tabs respectively. Storage options include zippered chest and hand pockets plus an internal drop-in pocket, and the jacket conveniently packs into its own chest pocket for easy stowing. Available in Metal Pink (model NF0A8BK9).

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Alta Vista for its reliable waterproof protection in light to moderate rain, lightweight and packable design (around 10-11 oz, self-stowing into a chest pocket), generous pocket layout, and flattering fit that accommodates layering. The pit-zip venting and durable 70-denier recycled nylon shell are frequently highlighted as standout features for the price. The most common complaints center on breathability, with multiple reviewers noting it feels clammy or traps heat during high-output activity. Some users also report the DWR finish wetting out faster than expected in extended downpours, and a few note the hood offers limited face coverage and the sleeves can run short.
