About this product
The Smith I/O MAG XL in the Dawn Patrol frame pairs a large-fit design with a spherical Carbonic-x lens that delivers distortion-free optics and solid impact resistance. The installed ChromaPop Sun Black lens carries a Visible Light Transmission of 12 percent, making it well suited to bright conditions, while a bonus ChromaPop Storm Blue Sensor Mirror lens is included for low-light use. Lens swaps between the two are handled by the Smith MAG magnetic system, which allows quick, tool-free changes on the mountain. Five-layer anti-fog treatment on the inner lens works alongside helmet-integrated venting to maintain a clear view throughout the day. The frame is OTG compatible and accepts an optical docking system insert for prescription wearers. A Responsive Fit frame conforms to the face, three-layer DriWix foam wicks moisture, and a silicone-backed strap with QuickFit adjustment keeps everything secure. All lenses provide 100 percent UVA and UVB protection. A microfiber bag with a replacement lens sleeve is included.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Smith I/O Mag XL's ChromaPop lens quality, calling the optics remarkably crisp with excellent color fidelity and contrast in both bright and low-light conditions. The all-day comfort from the triple-layer DriWix foam and flexible Responsive Fit frame earns frequent compliments, as does the anti-fog performance during typical resort use. The inclusion of two lenses for different light conditions is widely seen as strong value. The most common criticism is that the MAG lens-swap system, while faster than older non-magnetic designs, requires two hands and cannot be done while the goggle is on your face, making it slower than fully magnetic competitors. Some users also note the high price point, and a few report the XL frame can feel less oversized than expected compared to rival large-frame goggles.
