The Patagonia Guidewater Backpack 29L is a fully submersible, waterproof pack built for on-water use, carrying an IPX-7 rating that keeps contents protected even during full immersion. Its minimalist construction keeps packed weight to 907 grams (2 lbs 2 oz), while the 29-liter (1,770 cu in) capacity and 13.5 by 9 by 21 inch dimensions offer practical room for a day on the water. All seams are sealed, and the body fabric is a 14.4-oz 100% recycled nylon plain weave with a PU coating on the face and a TPU coating on the backer. The back panel uses 4.5-oz 100% recycled polyester hydrophobic monomesh that resists water absorption, and the 200-denier 3-oz recycled polyester lining carries its own PU coating. Webbing is 100% recycled nylon throughout. A net scabbard integrated into the back panel accommodates left- or right-handed use, an internal organizer pocket can be transferred to external lash points for quick access, and the removable waist strap stows away when not needed. The pack is Fair Trade Certified sewn.
