About this product
The Rab Cirrus Ultra Insulated Hooded Jacket is a men's synthetic insulation jacket built for climbing and mountaineering, filled with PrimaLoft ThermoPlume+ blown synthetic insulation that mimics the loft of down while maintaining performance in damp conditions. The shell is constructed from a 20D recycled Pertex Quantum outer at 38gsm, paired with a 10D recycled Pertex Quantum lining at 28gsm, both treated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish. A heat-reflective Tilt lining works alongside body-mapped sheet insulation in compression-prone zones to maximize warmth retention. The helmet-compatible hood features rear elastication, a concealed internal face adjustment, and a stiffened peak. Storage includes two hand pockets, two insulated chest pockets, and an integrated stuff pocket that doubles as a harness-attachable pack. Internal elasticated cuffs and dual-sided rear hem adjustment refine the fit. At a centre back length of 30.1 inches (76.5 cm), the jacket is made with greater than 75 percent recycled materials and is fully free of fluorocarbon treatments throughout.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Cirrus Ultra Insulated Hooded Jacket for its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, crediting the PrimaLoft ThermoPlume+ insulation and heat-reflective TILT lining for delivering down-like warmth while maintaining performance in wet conditions. The abundance of pockets, glove-friendly zips, helmet-compatible hood, and packability are frequently highlighted as standout practical features. Sustainability credentials, including high recycled content, also earn positive mentions. On the downside, some reviewers note the sleeves run slightly long and the fit can feel generous, so sizing down may be worth considering. A more specific criticism is that the loose-fill insulation can migrate over time, which may concern those using it for serious mountain or winter climbing. The elasticated cuffs are flagged as a minor limitation, with some preferring a cinch adjustment. At its price point, most reviewers consider it strong value for a technical synthetic jacket.
