About this product
The Rab Solar Eco 2 is a mummy-style sleeping bag built for spring camping, backpacking, and mountain trekking, particularly in changeable conditions. Its outer and lining are made from 100% recycled polyester, while the shell uses 100% woven nylon, reflecting a commitment to sustainable construction. The core insulation is a 60gsm Recycled Stratus Synthetic Sheet in a dual-layer arrangement, and the upper section features a concertina blanket construction that traps air to enhance loft and warmth. Offset localised quilting reduces cold transmission across the bag. A close-fitting neck baffle and an adjustable hood with an elasticated drawcord and cordlock help seal in heat, while a YKK three-quarter-length main zip includes a synthetic insulated zip baffle and an anti-snag internal guard. A compression stuff sack is included for packability. SKU QSS-10 is available in Ascent Blue.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Solar Eco 2 for its impressive combination of lightweight packability (under 1 kg, packing down to around 35 x 20 cm) and reliable three-season warmth, making it a top pick among synthetic sleeping bags for backpacking. Its fully recycled construction, including Stratus insulation and Atmos ripstop fabric, earns strong marks for eco-conscious buyers. The bag's ability to retain warmth even when damp is a frequently highlighted advantage over down alternatives, and the wide mummy fit, adjustable hood, and neck baffle are praised for comfort and heat retention. The most common criticism is that, like all synthetic bags, it carries a notable weight penalty compared to equivalent down options, and some users note it ships only with a stuff sack rather than a larger storage bag for long-term care.
