The Rab Solar Ultra 2 is a women's synthetic sleeping bag built for three-season alpine use, lightweight backpacking, and bikepacking in cold conditions. Its tapered mummy shape keeps bulk and weight low, with the Regular version packing down to 40 cm by 22 cm and weighing 1,140 g. The upper uses a triple-layer concertina construction of 100% recycled Stratus Eco insulation (140gsm/140gsm/40gsm), while the base uses a dual-layer arrangement (60gsm/60gsm), together mimicking the loft of down without any fill. TILT technology, a 15gsm aluminium-coated polyester scrim integrated into the upper, reduces radiant heat loss by up to 15% without adding meaningful weight or compressing pack size. ISO EN 13537 ratings place the comfort threshold at 2°C (36°F), the limit at -4°C (25°F), and the extreme at -21°C (-5°F). Elastic internal quilting draws insulation toward the sleeper to minimize cold-air pockets, and offset localized quilting reduces cold spots at seams. A YKK three-quarter-length zip with an insulated baffle and an adjustable neck baffle seal in warmth. The 20D Atmos recycled polyester ripstop outer and lining both carry a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment. A compression stuff sack is included.
