About this product
The Rab Khroma Kinetic Jacket is a women's technical shell built around Rab's own Proflex fabric, a waterproof, highly breathable construction that blends hardshell-level protection with the stretch and comfort typically associated with softshells. Rated strong on breathability and solid on rain protection, it suits fast-paced alpine pursuits like ski touring, hut-to-hut travel, and technical climbing where conditions shift quickly. Heat management is handled through rear arm vents and mesh-lined Napoleon pockets, both using YKK AquaGuard zippers, while a 2-way YKK VISLON centre-front zip with a fleece-lined chin guard adds comfort at the collar. The helmet-compatible hood features a wired, stiffened peak, concealed cord locks, and single-handed adjustment for quick deployment. Sleeve articulation and built-in stretch support full arm movement on technical terrain. Extended cuffs with hook-and-loop adjustment seal around gloves or mitts, and the jacket compresses small enough to stash in a pack when conditions ease. Available in Deep Heather and reported to fit true to size.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Khroma Kinetic Jacket for its rare combination of hardshell waterproofing (20K/25K ratings) and a soft, supple feel that moves more like a softshell. Breathability during high-output activities such as ski touring and mountaineering is a recurring highlight, with testers noting they stayed dry and comfortable even on strenuous ascents. The lightweight, packable build and stretchy Proflex fabric earn frequent compliments. On the critical side, the jacket offers little warmth on its own, making it layer-dependent in cold conditions. Sizing is noted as confusing, with several reviewers recommending sizing up. The rear-arm vent placement, while backpack-friendly in theory, can be tricky to locate quickly. The high price point is also a common concern.
