About this product
The Rab Ascent 300 Long is a wide-mummy sleeping bag rated to a sleep limit of 1°C (35°F), with an ISO EN comfort rating of 5°C (41°F) and an extreme rating of -15°C (5°F), making it a capable choice for summer and mild three-season outings. The outer shell is 30D recycled Pertex Quantum at 50 g/m², treated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR, while the lining is 20D recycled nylon at 38 g/m², both constructed from 100% recycled polyamide. Fill is 650FP R.D.S. certified European goose down finished with Nikwax fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic treatment. Trapezoidal boxwall construction with a differential cut promotes full loft and minimizes cold spots. The Long version accommodates users up to 200 cm (78.7 in) and has a total bag length of 230 cm (90.6 in). Internal shoulder girth measures 162 cm and hip girth 136 cm, reflecting the generous wide-mummy fit. A 3D shaped neck collar, YKK three-quarter-length zip with down-filled baffle, and angled foot box add comfort and thermal efficiency. An internal zipped stash pocket, a cotton storage sack with water-resistant base, and a drawcord stuff sack (packed size 30 x 18 cm) round out the practical features. Total weight is 895 g (31.6 oz). Left and right versions can be zipped together.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Ascent 300 as an excellent value entry into down sleeping bags, highlighting its packability, the hydrophobic 650-fill duck down that retains warmth in damp conditions, and the wider mummy shape that offers more room than typical mummy bags. The Pertex Quantum shell earns repeated mention for being lightweight and weather-resistant. The most common criticism is that the 300 is a true summer-only bag, with forum users noting it falls short for spring or autumn use and recommending the Ascent 500 for shoulder-season camping. At least one buyer reported uneven down distribution causing cold spots, raising quality-control concerns.
